Winfocus
President highlights the exchange
of experiences in emergency and critical
care ultrasound |
 |
In
an exclusive interview conducted for the 4th World Congress on
Ultrasound in Emergency and Critical Care Medicine, Winfocus president
Michael Blavias pointed to the enormous disparity among hospitals
worldwide with regard to the use of ultrasound in emergency and
critical care departments. “In the US, for instance, you
may find an ultrasound machine every three beds [in one hospital].
A few blocks away, you might have a single ultrasound machine
for the entire hospital”, he says.
He also mentioned the importance of exchanging experiences among
professionals in this area. He remarked that professionals and
institutions in many parts of the world have conducted studies
and found distinctive solutions which can be extremely helpful
to other professionals and organizations. The Winfocus Congress,
he added, is a great opportunity for the exchange of these experiences.
Finally, Blavias revealed his enthusiasm about the event being
held in Brazil. “Brazilians are welcoming us with open arms;
we have received support from many organizations.”
